A hattrick for MCC Global IML with 3 wins at the 2025 IMDA awards

IMDA 2025 - Winners

At the Plastic Product Decorating Summit in Charlotte, NorthCarolina, MCC Global IML proudly took home three awards. Competing under our new global brand name for the very first time, we were recognized in the categories ā€˜Sustainable Use of In-Mold Processes’, ā€˜Innovative Use’, and ā€˜Best Use of In-Mold Labeling’. A true acknowledgment of our, and our partners’ passion for innovation and sustainability.

Winners

Sustainable Use of In-Mold Processes: SelfEco Stadium Cup

Brand Owner: SelfEco
Product Molder: Paccor
Label Printer: MCC Global IML

MCCV_Stadium Cup Self Eco

The Self-Eco stadium cup brings together in-mold labeling (IML) technology, insustrial compostable plastic, and a PLA resin label to create a durable, attractive solution that advances circular economy goals without sacrificing design or usability. One of the biggest challenges was developing a mono-material approach with PLA. To ensure both the cup and label were fully industrial compostable, every element, including inks and coatings, was carefully chosen. The materials also needed to bond seamlessly during production while meeting strict food safety requirements. The result was an innovative integration of a bio-based label with an IML process.

Best Innovative Use in an In-Mold Labeled Package or Container: Sarasa Olives container

Brand Owner: Sarasa
Product Molder: ITC
Label Printer: MCC Global IML

Sarasa Olives - Sarasa

This versatile packaging range features four pail sizes, each designed with transparent O2 Barrier IML for extended freshness and strong shelf appeal. The use of retort-capable printing withstands high heat during processing, delivering a durable solution for the retail and food service markets without compromising its premium packaging appearance for the Sarasa Olives brand.

Best Use of In-Mold Labeling (IML) – Large Container: Ultrafresh

Brand Owner: Ultra Soap International
Product Molder: M&M Industries
Label Printer & Automation partner: MCC Global IML & Beck

MCCV_Ultrafresh - Ultra Soap International

For nearly a decade, Ultra Soap had been hand-applying two pressure-sensitive labels to every 5-gallon bucket they sold, a process that was costly, labor-intensive and created unnecessary material waste. This IML solution streamlines production while maintaining the product’s iconic look, rich colors and metallic foil. At the same time, the larger IML design space creates new opportunities for impactful product promotion.

About the IMDA Awards

The In-Mold Decoration Association Awards recognize outstanding in-mold labeling (IML), in-mold decorating (IMD) and in-mold electronics (IME) applications in a range of categories, going from Sustainable Use of In-Mold Processes to Best use of IML.

Entries were received from around the world. Each project was judged on overall design and complexity, integration of the in-mold element into the part or package, functionality, and innovation in the use of materials and processes. Manufacturing difficulty and complexity of the part, label, design or mold are also considered.
