An important role for recyclability
Overall, customers have responded positively to IML packaging. The recyclability of IML packaging compared to non-IML products is a key advantage. In addition, the use of mono-materials in IML packaging further enhances its recyclability.
“Transitioning to IML went generally smooth, thanks to MCC Global IML support and high quality labels, ” says Peter Horvatter.
SSI is also exploring the potential of IML for other products, such as tubes of different sizes to mark not only size markings and marketing logos, but IML would also enable stronger wall sections and therefore thinner PP walls. This not only reduces material usage, but also contributes to sustainability by reducing the carbon footprint.
