MCC Verstraete announces its membership to the NEXTLOOPP project. The Nextek project is dedicated to closing the loop on post-consumer polypropylene in order to produce food-grade material that can go back into packaging.
Sustainability plays a key role in MCC Verstraete's strategy, therefore, the company has collaborated to find a solution to turn post-consumer packaging into circular recycled polypropylene. MCC Verstraete is excited to partner with the NEXTLOOOPP project. Nextek, an independent consultancy who provides solutions to the challenges of the plastic recycling, created the project NEXTLOOPP to bridge the gap in the circularity of polypropylene (PP). Improving current recycling and decontamination processes to increase economic efficiency, is part of NEXTLOOPP’s vision. With more than 30 members, including brand owners, converters and recyclers, NEXTLOOPP aims to make a global impact.
Focusing on developing innovative solutions that provide recyclable, reusable or compostable IML packaging for our customers is top of our agenda. The combination of NEXTLOOPP’s decontamination process and our innovative IML solutions will enable us to play an active role in boosting the circular economy for PP packaging.
