Truly premium iced coffees
Excellence is the driving force behind every element of Lattesso coffees. Single-origin coffee beans are hand-picked in Honduras, gently roasted and mixed with the finest Swiss milk and premium ingredients to create a deluxe coffee experience. “We aim to make our products the best of the best,” explains Erich Kienle, CEO of Innoprax, the company behind the Lattesso brand. “Nobody wants bad coffee. Coffee and quality belong together. And that doesn't end with the drink itself. Our iced coffees are held in the hand from first to last sip, so we've created unique packaging that creates a comfortable and joyful experience.”
Iced coffee that’s comfortable to hold
Lattesso coffees are found anywhere cold drinks are sold in Switzerland, from convenience stores to big supermarkets. Their packaging design is quite distinct, making them hard to miss. They don’t look like your standard iced coffee, but more like a takeaway coffee from a café. With a unique cup-shaped design that features a soft-touch matte finish, Lattesso coffees are considerably more comfortable to hold than a plain old plastic bottle. They even include a compartment containing a cookie in the top of the cup—a sweet surprise that adds to the café-style experience.
An evolution in IML technology
Creating this packaging was an exciting challenge for the technical experts at Menshen. They not only designed the special cookie-containing closure for the cups, but also collaborated with MCC Verstraete to take the labeling technology to the next level to accommodate the cup’s curves.
“Normally, if you put a label on a curved cup, you get wrinkles. To get around this, we had to innovate", states Eric Dauer, Commercial Director at Menshen.
Iced coffee is a product that sells on packaging. When we get that right, the customer knows it’s a premium product before they've even tasted it.

“We also needed very specific slitted labels that could be produced on a commercial scale. From a technical perspective, this was a big challenge. Even the smallest change made to a label impacts the industrial process.”
It took some trial and error, but the dedication and IML knowledge from Menshen and MCC Verstraete ultimately paid off. They developed a customized IML technology that made it possible to mass produce labels that fit Lattesso’s curved cups like a glove.
“This project took us into unfamiliar territory,” reports Stijn Quintyn, Regional Sales Manager at MCC Verstraete. “But of course, we never back down from a challenge. Lattesso's cup design is one of the most interesting shapes we've ever worked with. And we’re proud of what we’ve achieved.”
